Fall 2022
Drumline Peeps:
Vic Firth Corpsmaster Chop-outs are a great option. Practice pad and sticks in one!
Or there are a plethora of practice pads out there ideally, choose a pad and mallets that are designed for marching drums.
Front Ensemble:
Keyboard players, check out these Vic Firth M5 mallets. These are a great any surface type of mallet. I kept two pairs in my backpack when I was in college, whenever I had some downtime I could practice on whatever I could find: a half wall, a chair, the floor, whatever! And since you will need two pairs, I am going to speak with Mr. Grant to see if school can get us some. Fingers crossed. For starters, click here for a great video on how to hold 4 mallets. We will be using the "Stevens Grip".
Aux players, a great option for you would be these Vic Firth American Classic 5B Chop-out Practice Sticks
A great resource to get this stuff is: www.steveweissmusic.com just enter what you're looking for into their search engine.
One last thing; If possible, get yourself the "slack" app and get logged in. This seemed to be a great way for all of us to communicate.
